After two months of agonising wait, the Leeds Lush Spa 4th Birthday party finally arrived on Thursday! I have to be honest, this event has been something I have been looking forward to ever since the #SheffieldBloggersMeetUp introduced me to the massive range of Lush products available. - Shamefully I always associated Lush with just bath products before hand.
My first treat as part of the 4th Birthday was a free taster session in the spa itself - I'm extremely lucky to have secured a place as it was a first come first serve basis. I was even luckier to find on arriving that not only was I receiving my treatment with the lovely Sammi from Little Blonde Life but also Kelly from Kel Loves, two bloggers I have already had the pleasure to meet & mingle with previously!
Before we had a chance to get down into the spa, the ladies on the shop floor pampered us with moisturising massage bars whilst we waited for our treatment rooms to be prepped. I chose a gorgeous one that smelt remarkably like a refresher bar (however I can't for the life of me remember what it was called - whoops, bad blogger!)
After a quick arm massage, we were finally led down the rabbit hole & into the spa itself. I myself have seen the spa before, but it still felt like a mystery as we were led down the wooden stairs into a dimly lit vintage inspired kitchen & invited to have a glass of fresh lemon water. The kitchen itself is full of floral teacups, glass vials of essential oils & a feature wall with inspiring words meant for tailoring your spa experience to the mood you wish to pursue throughout treatments.
So, I had an amazing facial and foot massage, but I'm actually pretty weird about people touching my feet, it freaks me out.. Might be some deep rooted paranoia from my childhood.. - Mama used to pretend to bite the balls of my feet, buttt that pretty much stopped at the age of 7 when she got a mouth full of foot.
Well I'm really happy to report that I LOVED my foot massage, I freaked a little internally when she first touched them but by using stronger strokes down the foot rather than light it felt much more comfortable. I was first treated to a foot scrub after a quick soak with a bath bomb, I have to admit this was the least relaxing part, as the graininess of the scrub tickled a fair bit, but it was nothing I couldn't handle. Following this I was massaged with a lovely cream exclusive to the Lush Spa & finally sprinkled with a finishing powder to get rid of any greasiness.
- My feet feel amazeballs right now!
My facial was a really odd experience but something I am definitely investing in again. The atmosphere with the candles, and a CD of sounds of the beach made the whole thing feel surreal.
I was invited to lie under a really cosy blanket with only the top of my chest and head exposed as the therapist (They are therapists right? - Holy cow I'm bad at this!) anyways, as the therapist massaged my shoulders in time to this amazing natural music.
This particular treatment was just a taster, I think it lasted around 15 minutes, I'm not too sure, I kinda nearly fell asleep. It was really that relaxing! Well in this mini treatment I received a small massage on my shoulders & head, a temple massage, lots of yummy smelling cream on my face & this strange cold stone treatment which took me by complete surprise. - Like OH hello ice!
Our spa experience ended with an amazing sugar cocktail and vegan chocolate cake, I was really impressed with how the treatments are organised, Lush Spa's don't like to throw you out straight after your treatment. You're always invited to have a tailored drink, which for some can be herbal teas made with the same essential oil you had during your massage ( how thoughtful?)
All in all I was super impressed with everything. The spa is beautiful & after having a little taster of what these fabulous ladies can do, I would not hesitate in buying a full treatment for myself!

I think your massage bar was Each Peach - I have it and it definitely smells like refreshers! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an amazing event, I wish my local Lush would do something like this. I'd love to get a proper introduction to all the different products and treatments.
Definitely feel you on the feet thing, too - I really hate feet!
