I've finally got round to blogging about the #SheffieldMeetUp !
Totally been beating around the bush delaying my posts with NOTDs and OOTDs about the day, but here we are, the whole shebang.
So, the day started with a pretty traumatic dash to the cash point half an hour before I was due to meet up with 5 of the lovely bloggers I was set to travel up to Sheffield with. Creature very kindly lent me the money for the train so I could actually attend, however, without any cash in his wallet & the ATM machine attached to our apartment block not working, I was forced to sprint to the train station & back again in the rain with no umbrella! - By the time I got back with Creatures card, my hair resembled something out of Disneys Brave & I was a soggy mess. Nice smooth curls, gone.
I quickly rescued as much of my barnet as possible & threw on my trusty bowler hat only to realise it was 11am already & everyone would probably be wondering where I was!
Not to worry though, the lovely girlies waited for me & we still managed to get to the train on time. I travelled up with Sammi, Jess, Michelle, Yuna & Kel which definitely took off some of the anxiety I'd been having about getting lost & being a lonely little sausage in the corner!
Shortly after arriving & already buzzing from bonding with the girls over funny 'lady strop' stories, we made our way to the actual meet up at Handmade Burger co. where we were greeted with amazingly generous goody bags from the lovely Rachel, Caroline & Charlotte with the most adorable personalised name tags.
I tried to be good & not peek in my bag but to be honest, that lasted all of about 5 seconds before myself & Sammi dived headfirst into the goodies!
We were then handed a menu and given the chance to order a burger, side & unlimited drinks all for free! - I couldn't believe it, the Handmade Burger co. were so generous and so very pleasant all through the day. Even though we took up half of the busy restaurant for a good 3 hours and caused quite a stir when the raffle prizes were announced!
Food wise my burger was epic! I ordered the blue cheese & bacon burger & a side of fries. When the food arrived I couldn't believe how large the portions were, I could barely eat half of the hand cut chips, & we all agreed they could have even served 1 portion per 2 people & we still would have had more than enough!

After the meal & a good old chat to some of the other bloggers we began to filter off into Meadowhall and down to Lush for some demonstrations. I was part of the first group with Rachel, Charlotte, Georgina, Claire & Stacey so we were first to experience a new product called 'fun', a play dough like wonder-product that can be used as soap, bath bubbles & shampoo! & as it's very much like play dough you can also mould it into fun shapes! (which of course we all did!)
We were also introduced to the emotional brilliant makeup range, which I have to say looks fab! & after some great demonstrations from the ever so helpful & enthusiastic staff we were handed another generous goody bag which included a full size packet of 'fun' & some bits from their emotional brilliance range.
The day ended with a yummy ice cream with Kel & a little wander around the shops with Jess & Sammi. Although I didn't buy anything extra on the shopping trip I did have an amazing afternoon & I'm absolutely made up I've met some lovely people from my area!
I'd like to finish with a BIG thank you to Rachel, Caroline & Charlotte for organising the event & putting together an amazing day out. The Handmade Burger co. for being so generous and catering for us all & also the lovely ladies at Lush for being so enthusiastic, helpful & supplying another generous goody bag!
Have you ever been to a blogging meet up?
Or know of any other set to launch up north?
When I went to the Leeds meetup I got a goodie bag with almost the exact same products :) Gotta love a bloggers meetup.
