Denim Dilemmas & Ochre | Next haul

It's officially my favourite time of year!
Baggy jumper season is upon us and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Lets talk denim. Like most ladies, I find shopping for the perfect pair of jeans a nightmare! Previously I have been a lover of New Look and Dorothy Perkins jeans because of their lower end price and decent fit. However I've recently gone off the fit of DPs and I'm finding New Looks to be hit and miss, especially with the lengths in their petite ranges for both brands. I have VERY short legs, and find that in most brands even petite isn't short enough. For instance in Newlook, I get petite ankle grazers - which still fit me past the ankle!
This time I have tried Nexts petite range of jeans - These were just £18 each making them cheaper on average than DPs and NL and they came in 6 different shades. I decided to order 3 pairs in a lighter washed blue, a mid-blue and a ripped style in black. As you can see from the photo above, they fit perfectly and are very comfortable! I'm so surprised that the length is actually perfect for me - No roll ups needed! I'm really pleased with my choice in colours too, I think they're all going to fit my autumn wardrobe perfectly, and I'll definitely be taking them away with me to Edinburgh later this month!

Big this season is the Ochre trend. You'll see lots of yellow toned products being pushed on most retailers websites and Next is no different. The colour itself sums up autumn, rich and suits almost everyone - Except me! I don't know if it's my hair colour, my skin tone or what, but yellow tones wash me out completely, so I have been at a loss as to how I can incorporate this gorgeous colour into my wardrobe. Until I saw these amazing patient loafers on the Next website - Footwear is a great way to add a pop of colour to your outfit and these look great with my new jeans & a chunky knit jumper.
I actually own these shoes in patient black too, which I have had for a while, but I didn't know they came in other colours until I had a spot of online shopping last week. They also come in navy, berry and patterned dogtooth.

I've been really impressed with Next recently. It is usually my go-to brand in the summer for cute cotton/linen basic dresses. However their autumn game has been strong this year and I'm looking forward to receiving another package soon featuring some teddy-borg cuteness and more chunky knits!

Stay tuned!

Next, Lusting after outfits!

If you follow me on twitter, you'll know I'm a sucker for entering a a competition or two, so a few days ago I saw a Next comp in which you were required to put three winter looks together using only Next's own brand. Well I began to put together my outfits & then like the retard I am, I closed the tab by accident & completely forgot where the comp was.... DOH!

But anyways, I'm going to share with you two of the outfits I put together, as they may as well come to some use! They're both practical capsule wardrobe pieces that I'd love to have for myself & a few pieces are definitely on my must buy list.

I'm constantly on the look out for smart work wear. I'm aiming to build up a nice professional wardrobe for when I leave uni with classic, stylish pieces that will save me some dosh!

I'm a right sucker for anything polka dot, the vintage magpie within can't resist & I think this is just perfect for winter work wear. the fabric is a wool blend to will keep your legs toasty & the cut is really flattering.

As for the shirt, who doesn't love a little lace. This ups the 'vintage' theme I was running with, along with an uber trendy belt & a flash of icy colour from the bag.. I think we have a winner!
As for the shoes, I know after my Kandee Shoes sneak preview post, these aren't that exciting, but I'm slowly accepting the fact that massive 6" heels probably won't be suitable for the office.. But the court shoes are stylish & comfortable enough that I don't weep at the sight & blisters on my feet!

Leather Jacket (no longer available), Lace stitch jumper £28, Vintage relaxed skinny jeans £26,

I need this little outfit in my life!
The leather jacket was definitely on my must have list, but whilst I was hunting back for the links to each item, it seems to have disappeared of the website -sad face- However, everything else in my little collage is still available.

I'm really loving over sized jumpers at the moment, as are a lot of you. I'm not a mega pink fan, because it tends to make me look a little 'barbie' with my hair colour, but the muted dusty pink tones in this jumper is really pretty. The shoes are amazing, seriously I need them so badly & with the little satchel, OH so cute!

I'm actually hoping that if I beg Mama hard for the next few weeks leading up to the big 22nd Birthday & Christmas, she may add on a Cambridge satchel to my presents list... If not I'm happy in the knowledge there are some pretty good replicas on the market right now.

So what do you guys think? Which are your favourite pieces?

Next, Eau Nude Perfume

I had a genuine episode yesterday when I realised my favourite bottle of perfume (CKin2u) had ran out completely..
For any of you who have had this perfume before you'll know that although pretty, the fact the bottle is encased completely in solid white isn't helpful when trying to keep track of how many spritz you can ration!

I'm a serial over sprayer of perfume so not surprising that my perfumes tend to last a small period of time, but this has come at the most inconvenient of times as I'm currently brassic & have no money to buy the big expensive bottle I so desperately want..
SO.. I decided to go down the cheap route and raided Next earlier for a small bottle to tide me over until I get some more wonga.

Next, Eau Nude - £6.50

Now on the website it says £10 but I assume that's because its the larger bottle.
I however am a cheapskate & had to buy the cheaper option (just so I could buy some stir fry with that extra £3.50 for tonight tea)

I was surprised at how long it actually took me to pick my way through the fragrance section. I remember years ago when the only one available to me in my local store in Cheshire was 'Paradise' - which is still going strong several years on.
But my new local store in Huddersfield has a whole wall display dedicated to several of their perfumes!

It wasn't too hard for me to choose mind, I literally picked up Eau Nude & was shocked to find it smelt almost exactly the same as Coco Chanel Mademoiselle. Another one of my favourites as it reminds me of my Mama, so it was pretty much a sign I had to buy it.
Plus you can't argue with the massive gap in price!

In some of the reviews I have noticed many think the bottle is old fashioned and lacks imagination. And although I have to agree with the comments about simplicity, personally I like that. I think its a classy looking bottle & the little tag/bow around the neck is adorable!

Next have a whole range of products to go with this perfume, I was eyeing up the face mask, but of course, food is more important. So maybe next time.
However again I was reading some of the reviews and I have to admit with one from 'vicky1994' , The perfume doesn't smell in any way like a 'blend of lush red fruit" but it is a very strong feminine scent that I wouldn't recommend to anyone who is into soft florals.
However if you're a Coco Mademoiselle girl, I'd definitely recommend this one if you're on a tight budget like me!

Whats your favourite budget perfume?
