My favourite products November | Review

It's no secret that I'm a Body Shop-a-holic! I often find myself wanting to review all of their products, but I fear you may get a little bored with my obsession. So today I just wanted to talk to you about two of their products I'm loving at the moment.

Usually when it comes to The Body Shop, you'll find me reaching for the citrus scents - Satsuma is definitely one of my summer favourites. But after attending a lovely bloggers event at my local store I found myself a new addiction perfect for A/W.

Shea Body Butter
 £13 (buy it here)

What The Body Shop says:
"This super-rich and creamy Body Butter is a feast for the skin. It melts straight in to leave skin feeling soft and smooth. It contains Community Fair Trade shea butter and has a delicious nutty scent."

If truth be told, I haven't tried a body butter that I haven't liked yet! - But the Shea is particularly fab. It does all the good things you'd expect from The Body Shop butters, it's creamy, soothes the skin for 24 hour hydration, but best of all.. It smells fantastic!
The body butters can range in consistency from whipped soufflé texture (strawberry) to creamy (almond) to thick (coconut). This product falls in the creamy variety. It is not so thick that it becomes difficult to spread on the skin but is not too runny as well. I would say this is a happy medium for me.

The Shea range is also particularly great for those of us ladies who suffer with very dry skin. A while a go,  no matter what crèmes I slathered on my skin, I would get small dry patches on my cheeks, arms and chest. However since swapping to shea products I'm really pleased to say I hardly suffer with dry skin anymore!

I find this range to have a very pleasing perfume smell to it too, and for every day, when built up with several of the Shea products, you really don't need to wear a perfume!
- In fact for those of you who do not like strong scents, I would recommend avoiding this one, it will interfere with your normal perfume if applied afterwards, which is why I recommend buying the body mist or eau de toilette to pair with this butter.

Shea Eau de toilette
 £8.50 (buy it here)

I bought this one shortly after the Leeds bloggers event, when I was actually looking for a body mist to double up as perfume for Marbella. The Shea eau de toilette was a lovely find, an although the bottle is small, it is a very concentrated version on the shea body mist.

The 30ml bottle lasted a good month of heavy spraying before it finally gave up & I was skipping off to buy some more, which I think I would find a little annoying if it weren't for my complete obsession with this range at the moment!
At £8.50 per small bottle, I fear I can get longer lasting value perfume sets from the likes of Next (The Eau Nude perfume is a particularly good Chanel dupe). But with that said, I would still happily buy a new bottle of this every month. Plus if you sign up to the free loyalty card, you do receive discount & stamps towards free gifts.. So really every 5 months I'll get a free bottle!

Since buying the eau de toilette I have tried the body mist too, & whilst that is fantastic teamed with ether the shower crème or body butter (yes I have the whole range now), I must admit, for scent stay power I would without a doubt reach for the Shea eau de toilette.

The Body Shop Make Over Event

Last week myself & Sammie from Little Blonde Life were invited along to a private seated makeup master class with the award winning Lan Nguyen-Grealis, The Body Shop head makeup artist at LFW Fashion scout!
I'm actually a self confessed body shop junkie, every month without fail you'll find me in there stocking up on my favourite body lotions, shower gels & body sprays. So when I received the invite you wouldn't believe how excited I was.

So, on the night after checking in & helping ourselves to a glass of bubbly & a little cake, we settled down at tables which were covered in pots of makeup samples we would later get to play with. I must say, like the makeup magpie I am, instantly I was routing through the pots to see what goodies we were about to sample - well, after taking some pretty pictures first of course!

We were then treated to an amazing smoky eye tutorial by Lan which was surprisingly easy to follow. I'm terrible at smoky eyes, mine always come away looking like a sad panda.. But I do think if I follow a few of the handy tips she gave us, it might be a more achievable look next time!
I also loved the how Lan was so enthusiastic about The Body Shop & you could tell he was really bought in by the products which made it all that more better when I sampled them myself & found them to be fantastic! - I've never bought the make up range before, I'm more of a soap & spray buyer, but I was blown away by how fantastic the BB cream was. So much so in fact, that I actually went back the following day & bought it for my holiday!

The rest of the night was spent drinking more champers & playing with all the cosmetics on the tables, I re-applied my foundation with the fantastic BB Cream, re-flicked my eyeliner & also experimented with two tones of lipstick.
I must say, their cheek & lip tints are fab too! - Sammie applied this to her cheeks & it gave a lovely rosy glow. & then teamed with the highlighter pen, I could see why Lan was so excited about the products!

All in all the night was a very enjoyable experience & I'm so grateful to The Body Shop for welcoming us & putting on such a lovely event. & even more thankful for the goody bag jam packed with things to play with too, reviews will be coming soon, so thanks again for being so generous & accommodating Body Shop Leeds!

The Body Shop | Make Over Event | OOTN

| Shirt - Topshop | Dress - H&M | Scarf - Clothes Show Live (MEGA old) | Boots - Linzi Shoes |
| Necklace - Primark | Hat - Missguided |

Oh hay!

Last Wednesday I was invited along to Leeds Body Shop's makeover event to see some lovely makeup demonstrations from an exclusive celeb makeup artist, drink some champers and play with all the makeup! - Amazeballs, but the full post about happenings throughout the night will be coming soon!
As per, I'm going to drag this out so I have a few posts to write about *wink wink*

So, I decided to go a little 'school girl' style, but obviously a little more grown up..
The shirt is amazing, I picked this up in the Topshop sale last season, & what you can't see is the little lace details on the chest (Shame on me for covering it up!) Really ditzy & cute. The dress is a little basics number I've had for quite a while too. It was a summer saviour this year, looking great with just a bright coloured crop top underneath as the arm holes are rather large! But this time however I liked the way it created a sort of loose pinafore look over the top of my shirt.

Accessories wise, these are just a few of my faves. All of them are pretty old, & the pashmina in fact is about 7 years old now! The hat I bought from Missguided last year and LOVE it, so much so that I begrudge buying another black hat.. But who am I kidding, I'm a shopaholic & of course I have several black hats..

Do you like the school girl chic look?

The Body Shop | Satsuma Body Mist

I seem to find myself having a Body Shop payday splurge every month recently! Especially on their range of Mango scented products (Oh hey, little obsessed with Mango in general it seems!)
But this time I decided to try something a little different.

The raspberry shower gel admittedly was really bought because I couldn't find the Mango one, but I'm actually pretty glad to try something new. Personally I find The Body Shop shower gels amongst the best you can get on the high street, the scents are really strong, fruity and best of all, they really linger on your skin. The raspberry isn't too sweet but just right for anyone who wants to step out of the shower fruity fresh but not overpowering.
For those of you (and I doubt there will be many) who haven't tried The Body Shops shower gels, I strongly recommend trying one of their body lotions or butters to compliment the gels. It really helps the smell last longer & I guarantee your skin will feel unbelievable afterwards!

The body mist was somewhat of a new adventure for me, I've been an avid buyer of the lotions, gels and butters for some time but I'd never really thought I needed a body mist.. Until now!
The satsuma body mist was £3.50 reduced from £8 on promotion for Body Shop members so as I arrived at the till to pay, it was too much of a bargain to resist.
I must say I have fell in love with the mist. Not only has it made my skin feel lovely without the use of my lotion, it also smells amazing! I spent the majority of my first night of use sniffing my own arm.. To which Creature thought I was a complete weirdo! - But to that I say so what I smell amazeballs

The raspberry shower gel is currently on offer for £3 online & in stores.
The satsuma body mist is currently £7.50, however in store with a Body Shop card you can pick one up for around £3.50
