The H&M rose print skater dress | OOTN

| Dress - H&M | Bag - Deichman | Shoes - Office | Necklace - H&M |

I'm so glad I bought this dress when I did, I managed to pick this up the day it was released and actually picked it straight off a rolling rail before they had a chance to get it on the wall display. I think a week later only a handful of sizes were left too? - Crazy

This dress pretty much just screams summer. I'm a big fan of vintage patterns, and on the rare occasion I wear a dress I want to look pretty as a picture which I think is where this frock really excels. I mean you could be the biggest tom-boy in the world but you'd look like a real lady whilst wearing this outfit.

The bag is a big beautiful favourite too. I picked it up about a year ago at Deichman shoes for £7, an absolute bargain. And its so huge! I love a big bag and this one is great for me as I tend to try and take my life out with me on a night out - Small bags just don't make the cut.
Finally the shoes are a little present off Creature, he got them after I passed one of my uni modules with a 1st earlier this year and since have been a favourite for classy meals out.

I think in hind sight, neutral accessories would have looked better but at the moment I have a severe lack of neutral heels that don't kill my tootsies!

My vintage pin-up photoshoot | Boudoir Superstar

Last year I was bought a Boudoir photo shoot as little present from Creature. & finally after months of waiting, I have all my photos & a gorgeous little album to share with you!

This was the first photo shoot I'd done since I was a teen, so it was quite nerve racking. Probably more so than my previous shoots because I was practically nakie.. But the girls at Boudoir Superstar Leeds were fantastic & made me feel right at home.
On arrival I was offered a glass of bubbly before being taken up to hair & make up. True to their word they styled me up like a 1950's pin up girl ready for my date with Andrea Barrett & her big ole' camera.

After 3 changes of costume & a lovely afternoon of posing, I was sad to leave Boudoir Superstar but greatly anticipated seeing all my photos! Admittantly I have been very selective with which ones I've put up here, some are a little cheeky & to be honest I'm not sure if I want my butt cheeks gracing Bo Blab! - We'll wait for my mid life crises for that one!

The day was an absolute treat & I was ecstatic with all the photos. Boudoir Superstar really did do a super job & I can't thank the team enough for making the day so special & an experience I'll never forget!

Would you ever have a boudoir photo shoot?

River Island Party Frocks

I've been doing a lot of online window shopping this week in prep for Christmas.
This year me & the Creature have agreed to buy each other outfits rather than pointless trinkets & stocking fillers, & go for a meal/drinks somewhere fancy instead. SO, that being the case I have been dropping links like no tomorrow on Facebook hoping he'll take the hint! ('Cos I'm subtle like that..)

Anyway, if you're an regular reader of Bo Blab you'll know I have a slight (massive) obsession with all things River Island, and of course the majority of my subtle hints have been from there.
- With the exception of one tag, in which I'm stood with a huge cheesy smile in Clintons holding a teddy bear almost as big as me!

Anyway I decided to compile a post about my favourite dresses on RI online at the moment. Some of them admittedly are ones that would not strictly suit my frame, however, they're far too gorgeous not to showcase.

I love the detail on the shoulder of this dress. Its beautifully simple and classy.
I've took the plunge into wearing tighter fitted dresses & for all my curvy girls out there this would be a great first step into fitted dresses, the ruched fabric will help hide a multiple of sins but still leave you feeling sexy.
I know I'd definitely rock the works Christmas doo in this number!

Grecian style dresses just keep creeping back. I wanted one of these a few years back after seeing a white one in Quiz (but with my pale skin its a good job I didn't buy it)
I think I must have a little bit of a lure for navy blue, a lot of my recent purchases have been dark blues & navy's, but I personally think its a nice classy twist on the LBD. This one would look so graceful on any shape, the skirt is just stunning.

This would be perfect for someone like my Mama (Shes a stylish Mum!) , personally I don't tend to wear dresses than hang over the bust, they make me look small and frumpy, but the gold sequin detail on this dress is lovely.

I can imagine this dress would turn some heads at a Christmas party, not only does it look really festive, but team with some killer boots & you have a show-stopper look for all year round!

Ooooo so pretty! As you can see embellishment is a big trend this year (as was it last year) so, of course the, majority of my holiday picks are just so.
I had to throw a LBD in here, I mean I don't think I could personally wear this because again it's not a very fitted number, but its a real statement dress. & I think would look perfect with a pair of black or gold heels & a simple clutch.

This looks so festive. I love love loveeee silver dresses around this time of year, they look stunning and so classy.
I have actually seen this dress worn on a stranger last week and she had opted to wrap a black belt around her waist, the result looked amazing. If I had £65 I would definitely purchase this and do the same, but sadly I have no pennies so I may have to wait until the January sales.

Now this is within my budget! I'm slightly torn between this and the purple version but I don't really own many green/turquoise clothes so I think it would be wiser to go with something new.
I have a pale pink dress very similar to this (see post here) & the style looks amazing on curvy frames, if you're a fan of accentuating then this style is definitely for you. On the other hand if you're a boyish frame this is the perfect dress for creating curves too!
-I swear it makes my bust look 3 times bigger!!-

So there are my favourite festive dresses from River Island, I hope you like my choices.
I was thinking of maybe continuing with this theme and compiling a few posts of festive wear for other high street retailers, but you're the audience so what do you think?

Love for Azure Boutique!

I posted last week about an amazing online jewellery store called Azure Boutique & how much I've fell in love with their handmade gorgeous pieces.
Well I was lucky enough to have been gifted a few pieces! I know! I'm so happy!
I'm planning on putting one of the items into my 10k views giveaway too, but which one, I'm not sure yet!

Since my last post they've also added loads of gorgeous new things too, like collar chains, cross earrings & more handmade bracelets. Which means once I get paid in aprox 2 weeks, most of my pennies will be going on buying their new stock!
Also don't forget they're still holding their 5 for £20 sale too!

So anyways, here's a look at what I've been given!

I'm in absolute love & can't wait to wear the pieces I'm keeping!
But which are your favourites?
Don't forget to vote on my 10k views giveaway poll on the right hand column!

Kerys tries retro

I promised last month that I would begin to experiment with vintage styles and although I love them, I'm not having much luck trying to re-create them for myself. - Shameful for a beauty blogger I know.
But recently I've been making small changes to my makeup routine and although subtle, I think my transformation into vintage style is gradually coming together.

Only since my photoshoot with Boudoir Superstar have I really fell in love with red lipstick.
I requested a very classic vintage sort of look when I arrived into hair and makeup, and the makeup artist gave me creamy skin tones like porceline, golden eyes and pillar box red lips.
This picture is very much my usual day to day makeup, foundation, a small amount of blush and rather than eyeliner, I line my top lid with brown eyeshadow for a softer look.
& of course, the new addition of red lippy!

Taking the makeup artists tips on board with using golden tones, last week I bought this pallet from Superdrug.
Metallic colours are bang on trend right now, and although this is damaged, I thought £2 was more than reasonable! - And to be fair only one colour is smashed.. I can certainly deal with that.

Rather than rolling with the fake tan, I've stuck to the au natural look and turned back to the pale side.
Mama is thrilled, she loves my porcelain skin (peaches & cream she used to call me), although I think the Creature isn't amused, he's definitely more of a fan of the tan. But this is me, in all my white glory.
Personally I love the contrast of my skin against the red lipstick and the subtle golden tones on my eyes. This time however I've used my black eyeliner to create a flicked look on the top lids.

My next challenge will be to experiment with my hair, attempting some 40's & 50's styles.. But with me being a serial hair extensions wearer, I find it really stressful doing anything remotely complicated with my hair. Wavy or straight - That's what I can deal with.
But I will try, and hopefully I'll discover a new and exciting style that'll convince me faffing with my hair is worth while :)

What do you think - Shall I boycott the fake tan from now on? or are you a lover of the tan?

Wishlist | Died & gone to shoe heaven!

Topshop - Wing High Sandals by UNIQUE
£110

I have fell head over heels (har har) with these fabulous sandals! As many of you will already know, I am obsessed with anything animal or bird related and these winged beauties are no exception.
My gosh I'd wear them to Aldi on a trip for eggs & milk if I had the pennies to buy them!

Topshop - Sporty Platform shoes
£90

I'm partial to a big platform, however I tend to avoid pink due to my blonde hair, and I would usually try to avoid the 'Barbie' image. However, I could bend the rules for these, the studded sides and thick straps have caught my eye, they scream style and comfort.

River Island - Blue Stripe Bow Sandals
£60

I absolutely LOVE these! In yesterdays post 'Love for big jumpers' I expressed my love for all things navy and striped. The nautical theme is still really big and these stunners would look perfect with a pair of leather trousers and flirty blue or cream top.

River Island - Black Feather Peep Toe Shoes
£100

Wow, what a show stopping piece! These are the kind of heels that need to be the star of the show. The fringe detail is just simply stunning and perfect for anyone who is looking for that rock chic look. Or for anyone who just wants to make a statement.

New Look (Online exclusive) - Chinese Laundry Aztec Platform Shoes
£94.99

Oh my LORD! I would give my right arm to own these babies! These are only available online and cost a pretty penny, but aren't they just totally worth it? Burgundy is a massive trend right now so these would go perfectly with that deep red beauty you've been saving in your wardrobe.

Miss Selfridge - Blinky Purple Heeled Boots
£50

Purple? They look cobalt blue to me?
Never mind the technicality's, how fabulous are these boots? These are your stand along shoes, let them take the spotlight and rock with black or beige

Office - Kaleidoscope Platform
£80

Seriously in shoe heaven. To look at my own shoe collection these are the shades you are likely to find (If you actually have the time to sift through 200+ pairs) Loving the huge platform and wooden heel. Classy, fabulous, and a staple shoe you NEED in your collection.

Boohoo.com - Orla Suedette Platform With Glitter Heel
£30

Again I tend to stay away from these style heels (due to breaking my ankle years ago and being unstable in anything that doesn't support them) But purple is a colour I'd love to be able to rock and my magpie like personality is on overdrive with the glitter heels.

House Of Fraser - KG Vixen Boots
£79

Vixen is right! You'd look absolutely ready to take over the world in these shoe boots. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!  They remind me a little of Kandee style boots too but half the price, which is always a winner!
_________________________________________________

So this is my dream collection for my shoe rack.
No doubt my magpie eyes will be on something different next month, but until then, I can carry on dreaming I guess!

Mini Haul | Love for big jumpers

Navy stripe sequin jumper £35 | Super light blue olive super skinny jeans -40

Since their purchase from River Island two weeks ago,
These two loveyt staple wardrobe items have fast become my go to university outfit.

Until recently, I was always the girl you saw rushing around everywhere in black leggings, an over sized blouse or t-shirt and converse. However, I have now been converted to the wonder of skinny jeans!
Unfortunately I've had body image problems (wah wah boo hoo, like all of us) and it stopped me from wearing light colours on my thighs and tighter tops. Now I know this jumper isn't tight, but forgive me as this is absolutely stunning on.
Since my recent entry into Curvy Kate's Star In a Bra modelling competition, my self esteem has sky rocketed and now, I want to show off my curvaceous thighs! GO CURVES!

Normally I would avoid sequins at all costs, but look at it! its just yummy! And teamed with the light super skinny jeans its just a perfect match that will see you out of winter into the cold spring months. Team this with a navy/cream pair of brogues or loafers and you're good to go.
Or so spice it up a bit, throw in a flash of red!

Have you splurged on wardrobe must haves lately?

First Blog Post | The Beauty Resolutions

well I guess I better start by introducing myself...
Hi! My names Kerys Marie, I'm a 20 something Journalism student based in Huddersfield but originally from Merseyside -  The scouse twang is unfortunately unavoidable

And the purpose of this blog - I hope - is to finally be able to stick to some new years resolutions & write about them as I go! Pretty novel base for a blog I know, but I have to start somewhere.
I really hope you stick with me & enjoy reading my little slice of the web.

 - I will stop biting my nails & begin experimenting with nail art.

- I will stop dying my hair & instead experiment with beauty products designed to improve hair health, shine & length.

- I will strive to find the best hair extensions on the market, both value for money and quality.

- I will begin a series on my blog focusing on old wives tales & home made beauty remedies.

&&&& Finally

- I will strive to experiment with fashion & different styles
    _________________________________________

Along side my studies I will be pushing to post as often as possible.
But until we meet again, I would love to know if you know of any interesting old wives tales & home spun beauty remedies you think I should put to the test!
Thanks for reading my first ever blog post!
& I hope you stop by again soon!
